Alberto Alcocer is a documentary photographer and director based between Madrid and Ibiza, with fifteen years of work spanning four continents. He has been published in El País, Marie Claire, C41, Teeth, Composition and Neo2, and has worked commercially for Gucci, Armani, Carolina Herrera, Casablanca Paris, Samsung, Coca-Cola, among others.
His practice is rooted in long-term immersion and human proximity — from laamb wrestling communities in Senegal to indigenous territories in the Amazon. He works across documentary, editorial, and commissioned photography, shooting both digital and 35mm film.
Selected for the Magnum Learn Lab for Storytellers, Alcocer moves between worlds that rarely overlap — fashion weeks and sacred rituals, commercial commissions and self-initiated documentary work. He also directs short-form video pieces, working across documentary and branded content. His approach is grounded in slowness and attention: the belief that stillness, in the photographer and in the encounter, is what makes an image possible.
